WLWV Parents’ Association Sponsors a Talk and Q&A by Oregon Association for the Talented and Gifted

Judy Smith from the Oregon Association for the Talented and Gifted will present information and answer questions at the Wilsonville Public Library, Rose Room, June 13, 2011, 7-8:30 p.m. Parents can find out how this program works in our district and learn why it is important to advocate for an excellent and engaging education for your child, both in and outside of the classroom. Learn about best practices in and little known avenues for broadening your child’s opportunities for an engaging, challenging supplemental curriculum. Bring your questions! Pick up information on starting an academic team: Lego Robotics, Odyssey of the Mind, and Destination Imagination. Open to all West Linn/Wilsonville parents. Parents of children in the TAG program are especially encouraged to attend: 14% of WLWV District students are in the Talented and Gifted program.

OATAG’s mission is “to advocate for the needs of talented and gifted children; to serve as a resource for families, educators, and communities; and provides direction for excellence in education. We are a non-profit, full-service organization dedicated to helping Oregon's gifted youth reach their full potential.” It is the Oregon affiliate of NAGC: www.nagc.org.
